About Mandy Cohen
As founder of Cohen Consulting Group, Inc., Mandy Cohen combines her 25 years of public accounting experience with her deep knowledge of QuickBooks and accounting systems to offer small business mentoring and exceptional QuickBooks bookkeeping and accounting services for small business owners. She not only offers accounting services; she shows her clients how to make decisions from the right accounting metrics, just as if they were an experienced controller or CFO.
Mandy became passionate about record keeping as a sophomore in High School. She intuitively believed that this kind of knowledge would have saved her family from the humiliation of having their home foreclosed upon, their car repossessed and the family split up to live in four different locations. She took that pain and devoured everything she could about accounting and bookkeeping. Her first job was in the accounting department of a credit corporation and eventually was hired by a well-respected San Francisco mid-sized CPA firm. She learned her craft well in the 5 years of grueling audits, impeccable workpapers and tax preparation. Facing burn-out, she accepted a job as controller of one of her client’s businesses. Within three years, she realized she missed the diversity of working with different types of businesses.
Mandy’s passion is helping entrepreneurs build their businesses, and she is an avid disciple of business innovation, personal growth, and lifelong learning. She’s been working with QuickBooks since 1995 and earned her Certified Intuit QuickBooks ProAdvisor designation upon the program’s inception. She had previously been a Qualified Installer for Computer Associates AccPac Plus accounting program.
Mandy continues to attend numerous programs designed to improve her services and benefit her clients’ bottom lines. She is a graduate of Anthony Robbin’s Business Mastery program, participated in Michael Gerber’s E-Myth Academy, was a member of the Mentor Plus Consulting Accountants Round Table, and had attended the Results Accounting Systems boot camp. Mandy’s library continues to grow with the likes of Tony Robbins, Sir John Templeton, Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale, Robert Kiyosaki, Jack Canfield, Brian Tracy, Jay Abraham and Diane Kennedy, just to name a few.
For 20 years, Mandy worked side by side with her husband Steve in their CPA firm. Prior to working with Steve, Mandy worked in industry as a controller and in public accounting as an auditor and tax accountant in a mid-sized CPA firm in San Francisco. Her passion for accounting metrics goes all the way back to high school.
Upon Steve’s death in 2007, Mandy re-focused her business to offer a full set of QuickBooks accounting and bookkeeping services, including QuickBooks consulting, payroll, bookkeeping, bill paying, remote services, and CFO services. She loves to find ways to streamline clients’ bookkeeping and help them get the financial information they need to make growth decisions for their businesses.
